Can Omawumi Do Without Her Wig? (LOOK)

Do you know music star Omawumi Megbele’s biggest phobia? It is not spiders or height but being caught on camera without her wig.

The ex-Idol star expressed her reservation about being photographed without her trademark wig.

Twice last week, Omawumi was caught by our correspondent telling some photojournalists not to take her picture. This phobia was enacted at a recent special birthday dinner in honour of visually-impaired producer, Cobhams Asuquo at Lekki, Lagos.

The singer, clad in a micro-skimpy Ankara print and sporting a natural weave without her wig begged not to be photographed as she stepped out of her blue Toyota FJ Cruiser after she arrived for the dinner.

While inside the restaurant and as another journalist attempted to take her photograph with the celebrant, the ‘bottom belle’ singer snapped: “Nooo, I don’t like to be photographed in this mode without my lipstick and my wig.” Omawumi then hid behind other guests.

Apart from creating a brand for herself with her skimpy Ankara print, loud red gloss lipstick and wavy, sometimes bushy wig, Omawumi’s profile has grown rapidly in recent times. With a growing number of high networth brand endorsements for Globacom, Mortein and Konga.com, she has been a permanent feature on many A-list concerts in Nigeria and abroad.

Starting today, Omawumi, alongside Cobhams Asuquo and Timi Dakolo will be among select entertainers contracted to thrill world business leaders at the World Economic Forum holding in Davos, Switzerland.
