President Jacob Zuma Humiliated at Mandela memorial

In a cringe-worthy moment for dignitaries and world leaders gathered for the memorial of Nelson Mandela, President Jacob Zuma was booed as he arrived at the FNB stadium.

The crowd booed loudly and gave thumbs-down gestures while others made cycle-like movements with their hands, indicating they wanted change, as Zuma walked onto the podium.

It seems the death of the nation’s father has not quelled the country’s anger over the R215 million upgrades to his Nkandla homestead at taxpayers’ expense.

Zuma was also booed when Cyril Ramaphosa acknowledged his presence during the welcome and opening remarks.

The president’s reception was in stark contract to that of his predecessor, Thabo Mbeki who received a hero’s welcome. The crowd rose, chanting “Mbeki, Mbeki” as he walked to take his seat on the podium.
